Angela Barbara is licensed to practice acupuncture in New York and New Jersey. She earned her Masters Degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College in New York City. She is board certified by the NCCAOM, and holds a certification in Clean Needle Technique as well as Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture. Though she started her career in private practice, Angela truly sharpened her clinical skills as an acupuncturist when she joined a community-style acupuncture team in the Financial District of New York City for two years. As a top-rated practitioner with a high patient volume, she logged thousands of treatments and had a unique opportunity to treat a very diverse population with a wide range of health concerns.
Angela found her calling to Traditional Chinese Medicine through her study and practice of Traditional Chinese Martial Arts. She has been training with Sifu Henry Moy since 2006, and is proud to be a Senior Instructor of Ving Tsun Kung Fu and Taichichuan at Moy Yee San Jong in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn.
Originally trained as a visual artist and designer, Angela found a special connection to the philosophy behind this elegant medicine with its diagnostic and treatment theories and methods based on universal patterns of the natural world.
Angela is committed to making the ideas of acupuncture and nurturing one's well-being more accessible and familiar to a wider audience. In addition to her private practice in Manhattan and Hackettstown, NJ, she continues her education and promotion of herbal medicine by working as a consultant and researcher for Kamwo Meridian Herbs in Chinatown.
